In process industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, and power generation, valve leakage not only leads to a loss of efficiency but also poses a safety hazard. Especially in harsh conditions involving high temperatures, high pressures, and particles-containing media, traditional soft-sealed valves often fail due to wear on the sealing surface. How can "zero leakage" be achieved under extreme conditions? Recently, the technical team of YONGJIATONGBALL shared their breakthrough practices in the field of hard-sealing technology.

As a national-level high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development of high-end industrial ball valve components,YONGJIATONGBALL is well aware that the core of hard sealing lies in the dual guarantee of "material + coating".

For different corrosive and temperature conditions, the ball valve has a full range of material solutions from 316L stainless steel, duplex steel to Monel alloy, Hastelloy alloy, Inconel alloy, even titanium alloy and ceramics, covering an extreme temperature range of -196°C to 1200°C. The stability of the material itself is the first line of defense for the long-term service of the sealing surface.

A simple base material often cannot simultaneously meet the requirements of corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Therefore, TONGBALL  has introduced advanced HVOF (ultra-sonic flame spraying) and plasma spraying technologies to prepare high-performance coatings such as tungsten carbide (WC-CoCr) and chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) on the surface of the ball and valve seat. Taking the HVOF sprayed tungsten carbide coating as an example:

In the laboratory of the ball valve, every hard-sealing product must undergo rigorous extreme tests:

✅ The precision of the key sealing surfaces of the metal-sealed ball valve ≤ 0.02mm

✅ The surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.2μm

✅ 1.5 million cycle life test: achieving "zero leakage"

✅ Passing the 500°C thermal shock test
